Odom, Jack Earl He died at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 55. Born in Baton Rouge, he was a former resident of Baker and a resident of Zachary. He was the branch manager of Scott/Toyota Lift, a division of Scott Companies. Visiting was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Friday, Feb. 18, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m., conducted by the Marriage Encounter Community of Baton Rouge. Visiting Saturday, Feb. 19, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino and the Rev. Vic Messina. Interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra Guidry Odom of Zachary; two daughters, Andrea "Andie" and husband Alan J. Metcalf of Catoosa, Okla., and Christie and husband David Sorrell of Watson; a son, Jason Paul and wife Michelle Enz "Shelly" Odom of Baton Rouge; mother-in-law, Ida Schexnayder Guidry of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Andrew Jack and Haley Ann Metcalf of Catoosa; Amanda Roxanne Sorrell, Charles David "Charlie" Sorrell, Jessica Reneé Sorrell and Hunter Chalmus Sorrell, all of Watson; a brother, James Norman and wife Laura Avriett Odom III of Clinton; and a sister, Karrie Odom "Kay" and husband Raymond Risley of Baton Rouge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Diane Samaha Guidry of Baton Rouge, Stewart and Sue Guidry Fiegley of Mandeville, Sharon Guidry of Baton Rouge, and Calvin and Ellen Guidry Wells of Prairieville. Preceded in death by his parents, James Norman and Iris May Davis Odom; and father-in-law, Lionel P. Guidry. He and his wife attended their Marriage Encounter Weekend in April of 1993 in Baton Rouge. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary, served as a Eucharist minister, on the Finance of Building Committee as well as in marriage preparation and as an area coordinator for World Wide Marriage Encounter for the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Alexandria from 1997 through 2000. Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Youth Ministry at 4727 McHugh St., Zachary, LA 70791.
