GARLAND - Ruby M. Towle, 94, died June 7, 2010, at her Oliver Hill Road residence. She was born Aug. 19, 1915, in Veazie, the youngest daughter of Fred and Eva May (Fisher) Avery. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1933 and worked at the Dumbarton Woolen Mill in Dexter for many years.
She was a life member of Joseph R. Sanford Veterans of Foreign Wars 3198 Ladies Auxiliary and held all offices, including president and chaplain of District 5. She joined the Grange when she was 15 and was an 80-year member of the Ripley Grange.
She was predeceased by her husband Roy; her only child Mary Jane; and two sisters.
Ruby is survived by one grandson, Roy Kennedy; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private interment will be in the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. (Morning Sentinel 6/9/2010)
