Mr. Clevenger was a Muncie native and resided here most of his life. He had been employed 17 years at a service station before working at Warner Gear in the developing laboratory. He retired from Warner Gear five years ago. He was a member of Local 287, UAW, and the Sympathy Club of Warner Gear.
Surviving are his wife, Esther (Pence)Clevenger; four sons, Richard Wayne and James R., both of Yorktown, Charles L., Muncie, and Danny Joe, Selma; two daughters, Mrs. Janice Rice, St.Louis, and Barbara Clevenger, Muncie; three brothers, John, Muncie, Gene, Yorktown, and Ray, Los Angeles, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Patsy Lewis, Muncie, Mrs. Annabelle Staggs, Yorktown, Mrs. Garnet Webster, New Castle, and Mrs. Juanita Piner, Inglewood, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
