Funeral rites for George A. Ralston, 71, who died yesterday on his farm near Argyle, will be conducted at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Burpee-Wood funeral home, 420 North Main street, and at 2 p.m. at Willow Creek Presbyterian church in Argyle. The Rev. R. C. Hubbard, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in Scottish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p. m. today.
Mr. Ralston was born Jan. 26, 1876, on the same farm and had lived there all his life. His parents were George and Margaret Ralston, early Scotch settlers in the area. A member of Willow Creek church, he was its treasurer for 13 years. He belonged to Caledonia grange, where he was chaplain for 25 years; Scottish Cemetery association, where he was secretary and treasurer; and Masonic lodge No. 75 of Roscoe.
He was a director of several organizations, including the Caledonia school district, the Caledonia Oil company, and the Boone County Agriculture association.
Survivors are two sisters, Margaret J. and Isabelle M. Ralston, both at home; and nephews and nieces, including Wilbur G. and George G. Ralston, both of Caledonia, and Edward and Margaret Ralston, both of Rockford. A brother, John, and a sister, Mary Ellen Ralston, died previously.
