Pioneer Guilford Farmer Dies Here
William A. Ralston, 65, widely known retired Guilford farmer, died Thursday at 1:30 p. m. at his home. 2020 East State street, from complications following a lingering illness.
Mr. Ralston had devoted the greater part of his life to farming in Guilford township. He retired twelve years ago and since then had made his home in Rockford.
He was born in Argyle on Jan 1, 1868, the son of John and Jane Ralston. His marriage to Margaret Jane Brown was an event of Feb. 15, 1900. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian church here.
Besides the widow, he leaves a sister Miss Elizabeth Ralston, a brother, John D. Ralston, and a niece, Miss Helen G. Ralston. One brother, Gavin Ralston, and a nephew, John W. Ralston, preceded him in death during the past year.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the residence on East State street. The Rev. James Benson, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Argyle cemetery.
Friends are requested to omit flowers.
