Philip Kraft, Jr. ,son of Philipp Adam and Mary Magdalena Hilber Kraft, was born Mar. 5, 1850 in Pennsylvania. He married 3 times. First he married Susannah Gensheimer in 1870 in Meigs County, Ohio. To this union 7 children were born: 1) Mary Susan in 1871, 2) Lydia in 1873 & died at age 8 months, 3) Emma J. in 1876, 4) Laura in 1877, 5) Albert H. in 1883, 6) Floyd P. in 1886, and 7) Edna M. in 1892. All were born in Shelby County, Missouri. His wife died in 1895. He then married his second wife, Minnie Plettner in early 1899 in Kansas. To this union one son was born, George Gideon in Oct. 1899. His second wife, Minnie, died in 1904. He remarried to Amelia Elo Yack in 1905 in Kansas. Amelia brought to this marriage one daughter, Clara A. Yack born in 1891. To this union was born one son, Hilbert E. Kraft in 1907. His third wife, Amelia, died in 1948. His occupation was owner of general merchandise store.
Philip passed away July 6, 1933 in Vassar, Osage County, Kansas with burial in the Vassar Cemetery, Osage County, Kansas.
