WILLIAMSBURG - Claudia M. Gardner, loving wife for 42 years of Dennis, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 11, 2007. She retired after 17 years as an Assistant Registrar of Voters in Prince William County, Va. In April 2006, Claudia and Dennis retired to Williamsburg, Va., where Claudia became active with the fall charity event and Vacation Bible School at Hickory Neck Episcopal Church in Toano, Va. In addition to being active in the church, she was an avid reader and an indulgent Grandmother to her only grandchild, Leah. Claudia is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dennis L. Gardner; her sons, Patrick (his wife, Becky, and their daughter, Leah), Michael, and Brian; her mother, Doris Fide; her brother, Timothy Fide, and her nephews, Christopher and Nicholas Fide. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Hickory Neck Episcopal Church, Toano, Va. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. Nelsen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be registered on-line at www.nelsenfh.com.
