CLEO JORDAN ANSLEY

Cleo Jordan Ansley, 93, of Pensacola, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010, at her home.
Mrs. Ansley was born in Wallace, Alabama, moved to Brewton, Alabama at age 11, and had lived in Pensacola since 1943.
Mrs. Ansley attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, and worked as a legal secretary in Brewton before taking a position with the Tennessee Valley Authority in Bristol, Tennessee. In 1943 she enlisted in the U.S. Navy (WAVES) and was stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Station. There she met a flirtatious and persistent Lieutenant named Robert Ansley, whom she married in 1946.
Mrs. Ansley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pensacola for 57 years. She had a keen interest in art, and was an accomplished oil and watercolor painter.
Her husband, Robert, passed away in 1993. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Ansley Fosha; sons, Robert Edward Ansley, Jr., and Thomas James Ansley; a brother, Clifton Jordan; three sisters, Vonceil Greene, Odelle Holley, and Betty Jean Golemon; and eight grandchildren, Daniel, Rebecca, and Kathryn Fosha, and Elizabeth, Benjamin, David, Timothy, and Abigail Ansley. One brother, Marcus Jordan, passed away in 1992.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Kevin Jones, Dale Zorn, and C.D. Nunnelley, Comfort Care Medical Group, Amedisys Home Health Care, Homecare Services of the Emerald Coast - Doug Marks, caregivers Charlotte Hall, Katrina Parker, and Patricia Berry, and Covenant Hospice for their loving care of our mother.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Pensacola in Pleitz Chapel, with burial to follow at Bayview Memorial Park, Pensacola.
Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2001 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Fosha, Benjamin Ansley, David Ansley, Timothy Ansley, W. O. Greene, III, and William Jordan.
Memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pensacola to the "Paul Royal Recreation Outreach Center" (ROC) Fund.
