DOROTHY GENEVIEVE POUNDS PRIM passed away Saturday, August 30, 2003, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

An avid sportswoman, she was many times Club Champion at Sulphur Springs Country Club and Northwood Country Club in Dallas. She also won numerous tournaments throughout East Texas. She served as president of the Waverly Club, the Women's Forum and the Women's Golf Association of Sulphur Springs Country Club, which honored her with a lifetime membership. She was on the boards of the Cemetery Society and the Sulphur Springs Public Library. She was active in the PTA, the Red River Council of Girl Scouts, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Denney Pounds and Henry Edgar Pounds; her husband of 50 years, Grady Stevenson Prim; and her sister, Denney Pounds Ashcroft.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Salch and husband Steve, Margaret Irvin and husband Glenn, and Wanda Lair, who was like a daughter to her; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

No formal visitation is planned.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 1, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the West Oaks Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ene Ashcroft, Frank Ashcroft, David Bradley, Charles Gilreath, Trent Salch and Jason Thompson. Following the services, interment will be at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Darren Arnecke and the staff of Hopkins House, Hopkins County Memorial Hospital and Sulphur Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center.
