Born in Seibersbach near the Rhine west of Mainz, to Hinrich and Barbara (Dhein) Dix, she married Nicolaus Caspar of neighboring village Argenthal in 1829. They emigrated via Havre on the 'Great Britain' in 1843 and came to Dheinsville where several related families had settled the previous year.
Susanna's husband Nicolaus Caspar died while visiting his daughter and son-in-law Peter Sinz in Glenbeulah, Sheboygan Co about 50 miles north of Dheinville. He was buried in Glenbeulah's Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Susannah returned to Dheinsville, staying with their oldest son Peter Caspar, and outlived her husband by about 17 years. When she passed away, she was buried at Dheinsvlle in her son's family plot.
