Robert Quinn Bean, 74, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and former resident of Driggs, Idaho, died Sunday, October 10, 1999 at his home in Idaho Falls.

Robert was born August 14, 1925 at Tooele, Utah, a son of Benjamin Bryan Bean and Winifred LaVaughn Riggan Bean. He married Yutonna Colleen Glover, March 26, 1945 at Boseman, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 9, 1954.

During World War II he served as a Naval Radio Communication Officer. He also served in Pacific Island Campaigns.

After his military service Robert and Yutonna moved to Ashton where they owned and operated a gas station. Later on the gas station was sold and he began work at the Ashton Bank. They later moved to Denver, Colorado where he was employed as the manager of a large feed lot. After working several years in Denver he moved his family to Blackfoot where he worked in a bank and also as an assistant funeral director. He became interested in that field of work so they moved to California where he attended the California College of Mortuary Science. After completing his schooling he worked as a funeral director later establishing the funeral homes in Driggs and Ashton where he was owner and operator for 25 years. During that time his son, Quinn, joined him in the business where they worked together for 18 years.

Following his retirement from the funeral business he went to work as a merchant marine Radio Communication Officer. During those years he was reactivated into the military as an officer during the Gulf War.

Robert was actively involved in Pierre's Playhouse in Victor for 16 years as part owner and director. This was the joy of his life. He loved outdoor sports, especially golf, and his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren participate in their many activities.

In March of 1998, Yutonna passed away at their home in St. George.

He later married Bonnie Jean Keele who has been a loving companion for 13 months. They enjoyed life to the fullest.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he served as Stake Clerk, on the High Council and financial clerk.

Survivors include wife, Bonnie Keele Bean of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three daughters, Dawn (Dirk) Cazier of Rigby, Idaho; Bobbie (Jim) Douglass of Tetonia, Idaho; Eddye White of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two sons, Quinn (Nolean) Bean of Delta, Utah; Kim Bean of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two sisters, Nancy (Ron) Bouch of Salt Lake City, Utah; Bonnie (Fred) Farr of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Ben (Laurel) Bean of Orem, Utah; Dan (Susan) Kirkham of Tucson, Arizona; 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
