Mr. Fillebrown was born June 5, 1910, in Poolesville, Md., the son of Thomas and Julia Smoot Fillebrown. He was a materials engineer and owned Washington Testing and Engineering Services Inc. in Northern Virginia.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in France.

He married Helen Bernice Williams on Feb. 11, 1933, in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Fillebrown died May 20,1993.

Surviving are a son, Joel A. Fillebrown of Berryville; a daughter, Carolyn L. Mellon of Estero, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, with Pastor Jennings B. Wood officiating. Burial will be private in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, Md.
