Frederick J. Lorentsen, 74, of Spring Hill, passed away May 31, 2010 at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Florida in 1987 from Patchogue, Long Island, New York. He retired after more than forty years as a truck driver. His hobbies were woodworking and cutting his lawn. He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the US Navy on the AKA 103 USS Rankin. He was the best husband father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Victoria Lorentsen and two brothers, Arthur and Albert Lorentsen.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; sons, Richard (wife, Debra), Frederick (Grace) and William (Gertrude) Lorentsen; daughters, Deborah (Gregory) Dziegielewski and Christine Leslie, all of Spring Hill, Florida; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Arlene) Lorentsen of Spring Hill and sisters, Margaret (William) Carlson and Ann Carlson of York, Pennsylvania.
A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, June 4 from 6-8pm with a memorial service at 7pm at Turner Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest on Monday morning, June 7, 2010 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
