She was born on Garfield Table in Lincoln county Nebraska. That is southwest of the town of Arnold, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965; a daughter, Genevieve in 1937; two sons, Teddy in 1960 and Roland in 1974.
She died in a North Platte nursing home.
On March 8, 1930, Bertha was united in marriage to Frank (Skin) at the home of her parents. Five children were born to "Skin" and "Bert"; Theodore Thurston, Larry Blaine, Genevieve, Mary Ilene and Roland Joid.
Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 22, 1989. Burial was in the Arnold Cemetery.
