Born August 1, 1849 in Ohio to Oel and Betsey (Terry) Durkee. Enlisted in Company D, Ohio 198th Infantry Regiment on 21 Apr 1865. Mustered out on 08 May 1865 at Camp Bradford, Baltimore, MD. Married Julia Haven. He died 08 Mar 1910 in Eaton, Lorain, Ohio, USA.
