Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kennedy Gray, 72, a resident of Summer Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Gray will be conducted Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Edd Brown and Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Ernest and Artie Brown Kennedy and wife of the late William Edward Gray. She was the former owner of the Rebel Truck Stop in Mt. Pleasant and tended to many children in the area. She liked crocheting, quilting and working puzzles and was a member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ. She is survived by a daughter, Cathy (Gary) Bailey of Summertown; three sons, Michael (Brenda) Gaddes and Rick (Denise) Gray, both of Mt. Pleasant and Jeff (Donna) Gray of Sandy Hook; grandchildren, Tracy (Trice) Heatherly of Hampshire, Michael (Crystal) Gaddes of Sandy Hook, Randy (Jill) Gaddes and Kayla Gray, both of Columbia, Jeremy (Angie) Bailey of Summertown, Noelle Gray, Danielle Gray, Andrew Gray and Caleb Gray, all of Mt. Pleasant; four great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Scott of Gallatin, Ann Gunter of Lafayette, Jeanne (JW) Johnson of Lewisburg and Donnie (Norman) Faught of Parsons; brothers, William (Kay) Kennedy of McHenry, MD and Jerry (Ellen) Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Tristan Heatherly. Pallbearers will be Michael "Bubba" Gaddes, Randy Gaddes, Jeremy Bailey, Caleb Gray, Andrew Gray, Charles Dale, Steven "JuJu" Boshers, Tim Chatman, Terry Kelley and Ricky Fraizer. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gibran Naddy & staff, the staff of Caris Healthcare, the staff of NHC Homecare, elders & deacons of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ, Sara Lucy Dale, Katie York, Harold & Kitty Wood, Annie Belle Buchanan, Mike Adams, Kay Spears, Blake Parsons, Darrell King, Les & Shirley Hinkle and all the adopted grandkids she babysat throughout the years.
