Author. Known as Robin, he was the 2nd Viscount Maugham of Hartfield, and was a novelist, playwright and travel writer. Inspired to become an author by his uncle, author W. Somerset Maugham, he wrote several books about him, including "Somerset and All the Maughams" and "Conversations with Willie." His other works include 20 novels, three of which were made into films, and many plays for both television and radio. He never married, and the viscountcy became extinct upon his death.
