Stoughton Amvets founder
Brockton - Frederick J Conley, 32 formerly of Stoughton, died unexpectedly Tuesday at Cardinal Cushing General Hospital. He was the husband of Linda A. (Grover) Conley.
He was born in Boston, son of William and Irene (Riley) Frazier, now of Port Orange, Fla., and lived most of his life in Stoughton.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, and had been a founder and the first commander of the Stoughton Amvets, a post he held for two years. He was an active member of the honor guard and the color guards. Conley had also become very involved with VFW activities in Stoughton over the past few years.
A trust fund has been set up for the Conley family at the Bay Bank in Stoughton, spearheaded by members of the local veterans organizations. According to John Tobin, commander of the Stoughton Amvets, Conley was " a hard worker for all the Stoughton veterans."
He had been employed at Plaza Oldsmobile in Braintree.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three children, Frederick J. Conley Jr., Scott W., and Michelle Lee Conley, all of Brockton; seven sisters, Carol Teague, Irene Rocha and Debra LeVangie, all of Easton. Diane deSousa of Rockland, Ruth Robertson of Athol, and Denise, Kim and Jo-Ellen Frazier of Florida; and six brothers, William Frazier of Easton, Leo Conley and Robert McGinnis of Brockton, John and Wayne Frazier of Stoughton and Walter Frazier of Florida.
The funeral will be at 8 am Saturday from the Sheehan funeral home, 115 Monk St, Stoughton, followed by a funeral mass at 9 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
