Corporal
B (Malta) Company
1st Battalion (Cheshire)
The Mercian Regiment
British Army

He was part of 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles Battle Group deployed with the UK contingent of NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Cpl Webster and LCpl Alan Cochran died as a result of enemy small arms fire while on a foot patrol in Nahr-e Saraj district, Helmand province.

Aged 24, Cpl Webster was born in Chester. He enlisted in 2002 and initially joined the Corps of Royal Signals before transferring to the Cheshire Regiment. He previously served in Northern Ireland, Kenya and Iraq. Nicknamed "Web" and "Tez", he was described as a strong, dependable infantryman and excelled as a section commander. Colleagues remember him as an inspiring leader and a great friend full of life.

Cpl Webster leaves behind his wife Charlotte, their children Jessica and Liam, his mother Julie and stepfather Andre, sister Teegan (Tiggy), along with other relatives and friends. His wife said, "Tez was passionate, loyal and determined. He enjoyed the role he had in the Mercians but he was a family man at heart. He was a fantastic Dad to Jess and Liam and he was the perfect soul mate to me. Although this is a very sad time, Tez would want us to be positive."
His wider family issued a statement, "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved Terry. He was such a caring young man who always put his family first. He touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. He died doing the job he loved. His dedication and professionalism will remain an inspiration to all."

Funeral with full military honours was held on June 22, 2010 at Holy Trinity Church, Blacon, followed by a private cremation service.
