CHARLESTON - Retired Marine Corps Lt. Col. Mercade A. Cramer of 1480 South Edgewater Drive died Friday in a local nursing home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Beaufort National Cemetery. Burial will be directed by Stuhr's.
Mr. Cramer was born February 28, 1901, in Woodland, Michigan, a son of James H. Cramer and Ava Leonard Cramer. He was a graduate of North Dakota State University and was a Protestant. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association and was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine McTeer Cramer; two sons, Mercade A. Cramer Jr. of Wallingford, Pa. and James H. Cramer of Pasadena, Calif.; one daughter, Ava C. Ramirez of Glendora, Calif.; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
