JOSEPH H. (HAM) PRYOR, 79, died Saturday at the Washington County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past four weeks. Mr. Pryor was born at Lantz, son of John W. and Amanda Brown Pryor.
He has made his home in Highfield since 1908.
Mr. Pryor worked for a short time for the Western Maryland Railway. For over 40 years he has been employed at Landis Tool Co., and at the time of his retirement in 1957 he was a crane operator.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret A. Fritz Pryor; daughters, Mrs. John Brown of Thurmont, Mrs. Lawrence Hershberger and Mrs. Walter Ridenour of Smithsburg, Mrs. Mervin Cooper of Baltimore, Mrs. Gerald Brown of Hagerstown, Mrs. Claude Humbert of Waldorf; sons, Chester o£ Hyattsville, Staunton of Lantz; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was the last of his immediate family of 11 brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro with the Rev. Claude Corl officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
