AGED HOLMAN CITIZEN PASSES TO HIS REWARD

Mr.Joseph Ripper,Sr.,respected retired farmer of the Holman section,died Monday,Aug. 21,at 5 p.m. The funeral took place at 9 o'clock Aug. 23 at St. Michael's Cemetery,following requiem mass said by Rev.Jos. Hildebrand.Funeral services were conducted by Rev.Jos. Szymanski.The pall bearers were six grandsons of deceased,as follows:John Ripper,Jr.,Albert Ripper,Adolf Kubica,Edgar Walla,Henry Ripper and Alfred Ripper.
Mr.Ripper was born in Grandorff,Germany,March 23,1853,and was 80 years,5 months and 28 days old at the time of death.He came to this section in 1880.His wife preceded him to the grave twenty-four years ago,having died Jan.21,1909.He is survived by ten children as follows:John,Joe,Fred,Edward,Anton,Adolph,Mrs.Joe blaschke,Mrs.Joe Kubica,Mrs.Joe Naiser,Mrs.Anton Walla,44 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.He is also survived by two sisters,Mrs.Schop,over 90 years of age,living at Praha,and Mrs.Frank Lev,Sr.,over 82 years old,also living in Praha.
The funeral was largely attended,showing the high esteem in which Mr.Ripper was held by friends everywhere.He was a splendid,good man,one who always stood high among his fellowmen,a good christian character,a devoted husband,father,neighbor and friend,and his passing has brought sadness and sorrow to the hearts of many of our people.May the good God above comfort his bereaved ones is our sincere wish.
