Died November 11, 2016

On the morning of November 11, 2016, Dianne passed away in Florence, Kentucky at 11:40 am after a long, valiant struggle with COPD. Dianne was surrounded by family at the St. Elizabeths Hospital ICU. Dianne was 63 years old.

Melinda Dianne Wilder was born on March 12, 1953 in Hamilton County, Ohio. She was the only child of Anna and Shade Wilder.

In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by her daughter Chastity Michelle Robinson Meyers.

Dianne was survived by fiancé Paul Haelfing, daughter Loretta Van Roekel and husband Randy of Newton, Iowa, grandchildren Joshua Rayburn and wife Jessie, Matthew Rayburn, Tashia Collins, Chelsea Soward and FaithAnn Chaney; great-grandchildren Aiden, Tayshawn, Abi, Payton, Shade, Griffin, Jayden, Benji and Wilder. She also leaves behind her beloved kitten Ellie Mae.

Dianne grew up the apple of her daddy's eye. He treated her like a princess and she was very close with her parents, whom she affectionately referred to as Mommy and Daddy throughout her entire life.

In her adult life, Dianne had three main passions: cars, the water and her family. Whether it was her brand-new, shiny, red Chevy that her daddy bought her at the ripe ole' age of 14 or big black 1995 Ford that she drove until her health became too poor for her to climb up in the cab, she loved, cared for and appreciated fine machinery. Anyone who knew Dianne knew she also loved the water- especially the beach. Her bedroom was decorated with paint the color of an ocean sunset and enough beach décor to keep a small flea market in business for years. Dianne shared this love with her family as she took them on beach vacations every chance she got.

After retiring in 2010 she spent most of her time with family. Affectionately known to her grandkids as Grandma and to her great-grandkids as GiGi, Dianne never missed a concert or graduation, a birthday or holiday. She loved fiercely, lived passionately and just like her daddy she would do absolutely anything to help her family. She enjoyed being a mom. She loved being a grandma. And she treasured being a GiGi.

A private service will be held in McKee Kentucky at Lakes Funeral Home on Monday, November 14, 2016 with Brother Leonard Wilder officiating. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in McKee, Kentucky
