Funeral services for Henry Gollner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gollner were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home northeast of Palmyra, followed by a service at the Evangelical church at Syracuse, Rev. Hefner officiating. He was born July 12, 1876, at Belmont, Wisc., and passed away at his home here, following many long years of ill health, which eventually made him Bedfast for the past four or five years.
Henry Gollner was united in marriage to Mary Bolz on Feb. 18, 1909. To this union was born one son, Harry, who together with his mother survive. Other survivors are two brothers, John, of Venango, and William, Avoca; one sister, Mrs. Meta Spratt, of Douglas. Two brothers, Fred and Herman, Palmyra, and two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Hutte of Walton, and Mrs. Minnie Brockman of Elmwood, preceded him in death, also two sisters and one brother died in infancy.
Mr. Gollner was well known in the Palmyra vicinity, where he farmed for many years.
He came to Avoca from Wisconsin when he was four years old, and had lived in the Otoe and Palmyra vicinities since then.
Following the services at Syracuse the body was brought to the Unadilla Cemetery for interment.
Pallbearers were Fred Mohr, Fred Steinoff, Syracuse; Otto Weyers, Eagle; Thos. Kelly, John Neeman, Chas. Thomson, Palmyra.
