Former Resident Dies In Madison
Funeral services for Mrs. Arminta Jane Scales, 68, who passed away Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Cragmont Hospital in Madison, Indiana, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Greene and Harrell chapel with Rev. W. Douglas Rae officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla cemetery. Pall bearers will be William and David Day, Richard Scales, Raymond Maxwell, Fred Scales, and William Henry. A native of Morgan county, Mrs. Scales was the daughter of William and Mary E. Goodman Bales. Early in life she and her parents came to this county, where they made their homes. Her husband, William Scales, preceded her in death, passing away in 1933. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Hall and Miss. Mary Scales, both of Bloomington; one son, Roy of Hamilton, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. E.D. Beaman, Bloomington, Mrs. Estella Maxwell, Martinsville, Mrs. Gus Gray, Martinsville; two brothers, Harold and Frank Bales, Martinsville; six grand children and one great grandchild. Until the hour of the service, the remains will lie in state at the Greene and Harrell funeral home.
