He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Carolyn Vest Lester and sisters Ilda and Rozella Vest. Survivors included his wife Jeanette, sons Walter and Jerry, four grandchildren and sisters Ida Vest Fakess and Gilda Pearl Vest Hudson.
Funeral services were in the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, W.Va., with the Rev. Gene Hall officiating. Burial was in the E.B. Vest Cemetery on White Oak Mountain, W.Va.
