The Rev. Verlon Jadene Ball, 82, of Van Buren died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, in a local hospital.
He was Army veteran of World War II and a retired construction contractor. He was the founder and pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God in Fort Smith.
He was the widower of Eula Ball.
Funeral was Thursday in Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharron Bailey of Van Buren; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Karl Thornell, Randy Boyd, Larry Robinson and Ron Dougan.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the DAV, Chapter No. 42.
