Excerpt from "Reminiscences: Stories of a Country Girl" pages 7-8 by Mildred Frankie Glen

"I will always be grateful to a lady who's husband owned the Sinclair Oil Company franchise in Boerne. Her name was D'Jelma Cochran (sp). Almost everyone called her 'Jed'. I worked as a housekeeper when I could, for extra money, and was lucky enough to be employed by her. I was about 14 years of age at the time (abt 1938) and learned so much from this lovely lady. Jed took time to teach me so many social graces tht came in handy later in my life. I learned the proper way to set a dinner table, dinner plate, bread plate, water and wine glass. The proper place for silverware and the correct way to use them. I learned so much from this gracious lady that served me well all my life, as I moved into other styles of life and living.

I was attending school with her children at this time and they were my friends. I have remained friends with them to this day, and was always treated with respect by ehr children, even tho (sp) I worked as their housekeeper. Bless you D'Jelma Cochran!!!!!!!"
