Ben Ripper Funeral Services Held May 20
Ben C. Ripper,79,of Weimar,died Monday,May 19.Funeral services were held Tuesday,May 20 at Weimar United Church of Christ with Rev.Glen Schoeneberg officiating.Interment followed at Weimar Masonic Cemetery.
Mr.Riper was born Sept.25,1923 in Holman to Anton and Sophie (Oeltjendiers) Ripper.
He served his country in the United States Navy from Feb. 24,1943 to Nov. 7,1945.He married Elvira Ripper on June 29,1948 in Weimar.
Mr.Ripper was a farmer and rancher and also worked as a maintenance man for Weimar Independent School District.
He was a member of the VFW and lived in this area all his life.
Mr.Ripper is survived by his wife,Elvira of Weimar;daughters,Pamela Cox and husband Milton of Luling and Lori Zuhn and husband Michael of La Grange;son-in-law,Steve Pendergrass of Austin;and three grandchildren,Kara Pendergrass of Austin,and Aaron and Hannah Zuhn of La Grange.
He is also survived by brothers,Martin Ripper and Charlie Ripper,both of La Grange,and Walter W. Ripper and Erwin Ripper,both of Schulenburg;and sisters,Evelyn Ripper and Dorothy Ripper,both of Schulenburg.
He was preceded in death by one daughter,Wanda Pendergrass;two brothers,Tony and Alfred Ripper;and two sisters,Olga Trojacek and Susie Ripper.
Pallbearers were Marty Ripper,Lad Trojacek,Mark Ripper,David Ripper,Chad Kloesel and Ewald Friedrich,Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers were Martin Ripper,Charlie Ripper,Walter W. Ripper,and Erwin Ripper.
