Della Mae Mershon was born to Noah H. and Edna E (Young) Tillis. She was the oldest of thirteen children and graduated from high school in Mountain Park, Oklahoma. She married Leon W. Mershon February 1, 1930 in Snyder, Oklahoma and lived in Rocky and Cordell. Together they had five children. In earlier years she made her main occupation as Dinner and Pastry Chef. During her life she lived in Oklahoma, California and Arizona. She was loved and will be missed by two sons; Wayne and wife Joyce Mershon and Kenneth and wife Joanne Mershon of Kingman, Arizona; two daughters Dolores and husband Bob Wiley of Ridgecrest, California and Barbara Wells of Kingman, Arizona. One sister Juanita Rowland of Kingman, Arizona and three brothers James Tillis, Arland Tillis and Roy Tillis of Sacramento area in California; 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren who live in Arizona, California and Oklahoma (some in Cordell) and relatives and friends also in same areas. She was proceded in death by her parents, one daughter (at birth), two great grandchildren and nine brothers and sisters.
