Grace Angeline Whetstone was born to David Jennings Whetstone and Catherine Angeline Bowers on July 18, 1879 in Butler, Bates County, Missouri. Her brothers and sister are Charles Wilson, Harriet Adelia and John David. She lived on a farm near Butler.
Grace married Arvil Pickett in July, 1895 in Butler, Bates County, Missouri. Born to them are Howard Leroy, Ernest David, Glenn Arvil, and Violet (Hart). Arvil and Grace moved to Idaho in 1909. They farmed at Ucon, Bonneville County, Idaho and later on the property which is now Tauphaus Park in Idaho Falls. It was while they were living there that some of the earliest park developments were made. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Idaho Falls, and the Rebekah Lodge, besides several social groups. At the time of her death she was survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
