Esther Hisel, age 80 of Portland, Oregon passed away August 12, 1985. Born in Stark Township, Wisconsin to Charles and Lucinda (Lawrence) Hopkins, April 18, 1905. She married Linley Hisel September 16, 1924. They lived in the LaFarge area until April of 1942 when they moved to Portland. Esther is survived by three sons, Mervin of Eugene, OR, Dale and Neil of Portland, OR, one daughter, Mary Jarvis of Sweet Home, OR; friends, Dick & Marlene Ogden of Eagle Creek, OR; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Leona Frye of Burlington, WI; Cloie Neprud, Westby; and Hazel Vitcenda of LaFarge. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lindley, one son Marvin, and one brother, Hallie. Rev. Jack Adams officiated at the memorial service in the Parkrose Community Church on Saturday, August 17.
