Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Robert O. "Bob" Wilkins, age 86, of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2010. Mr. Wilkins, born August 19, 1923 in Addison, Alabama, was a son of the late, Henry Lee Wilkins and the late, Lillie Mae Johnson Wilkins. Mr. Wilkins was retired from the United States Air Force where he served in World War II and the Korean War. After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Wilkins, worked as a field supervisor for the Northeast Georgia area with the George State Fire Marshalls Office; and also worked as a car dealer. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard and Willard Wilkins.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Clozelle Wright Wilkins of Jefferson. Son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Sharon Wilkins of Jefferson. Brother, Fred Wilkins of Addison, Alabama. Aunt, Trixie Cobb of Addison, Alabama. Sister-in-law, Vergie Wilkins Mashburn of Addison, Alabama. Grandchildren, Casey and Corey Wilkins of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery, 4554 Highway 82 North Commerce, Ga 30529. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Wilkins, Corey Wilkins, Dwayne Wilkins, Mike Stover, Sandy Mayfield, and David Mayfield. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson.
