Alvin Henry Bearce, son of Clarence E. and Katherine M. (Fleischer) Bearce, was born December 2, 1929 on the family farm in Bates County near Rich Hill, Missouri. He was one of eleven children born and raised there. Alvin passed away May 27, 2010 at the Clinton Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, Missouri at 80 years of age. The Bearce family lived near Rich Hill where Alvin attended school through the 8th grade. In the 1940's they moved to the Appleton City, Missouri area where the family remained until each child left home. They were members of the First Baptist Church during this time. When Alvin left Appleton City he took a maintenance job with Rival Manufacturing where he worked mainly in a janitorial position until his retirement. Mr. Bearce had lived in Clinton, Missouri throughout the remainder of his life. He was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ and had been a faithful attendee until his health failed. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, Edmond Bearce who died in infancy, Leanna Bearce who died at age 19 and Vernon Bearce who died at age 40 and Earl Bearce. Survivors include his remaining siblings, Harry Bearce of Sacramento, California, Leroy Bearce of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ethel Lord of Kansas City, Missouri, Edna Pickett and Ruby Jones both of Spokane, Washington and Dora Sanders of Kansas City, Missouri; also surviving is a sister-in-law Dorothy Laveren of Kansas City and Dorthy Campbell of Ozark.
