KARNAK - Leslie T. Conner, 67, formerly of Vienna, died at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, in VA Medical Center in Marion.
Leslie was born Jan. 4, 1941, in Muncie, Ind. He was the son of Charles Logan Conner and Bertha Louise (Huxhold) Conner.
Leslie was united in marriage to Laura Sue (Stevenson) on Dec. 26, 1957, in Castle Rock, Colo. She preceded him in death Aug. 5, 1995.
Survivors include nine children and spouses, Laura Susan and Ray Finstad of Anna, Sandi and Steve Odom of Kankakee, Cathrine Conner of Anna, Tracy and Jim McHugh of Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Ted and Susie Conner of Vienna, William and Linda Conner of Anna, Jonathon and Rebecca Conner of Mayfield, Ky., Christopher and Cathrine Conner of Springfield, Mo., and Richard Conner of Karnak; 24 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Glenn Conner of Muncie, Ind., Charles Conner of Asheville, N.C., and Marvin Conner of Lakeland, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Ronald Conner and Johnny Conner; and a sister, Theresa Conner.
Leslie was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1958 to 1970. During his Navy tenure, Leslie served as a computer systems analyst.
He was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church, near Cobden. Leslie enjoyed fishing and camping.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, north of Vienna. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
