Liselotte Haf nee Kaiser-Saule, my maternal grandmother was born in Zurich, Switzerland to the parents of Margarete Kaiser and Hans Bacher (The father she never had the opportunity to meet). Her mother, my great grandmother, Margarete met and married Peter Saule, he adopted my grandmother. Oma grew-up and lived in Augsburg all of her life.
Oma met and married Adalbert Haf on the 22nd day of October in 1932. They had three children, my beautiful mom, Elfriede Haf, born(1933 - 2010) and twin boys, Adalbert Haf (1940 - 2004) and Helmut Haf (1940-1994), all born in Augsburg, Germany.
Oma lived quite a life. She survived (along with her children) the bombings in Augsburg, on 17 April 1942. Oma worked in a local German Restaurant for many years.
Oma passed away peacefully in her home in Augsburg, Germany. Her wishes were that she be buried here in Southern California near Mom (her daughter) and myself (granddaughter).
Oma was cremated on the 15th of April 2010 in Germany. Her ashes were sent to El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego...her final resting place.
We had a small and wonderful service for her here on the 26th of May 2010. R.I.P Oma. We love you.
