Mildred Irene Goalen Hicken, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, passed away December 28, 1994 in Albuquerque, New Mexico while visiting family for Christmas.

Born February 1, 1902 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George William and Rosa Emmaline Taylor Goalen. Resided in Salt Lake City most of her life. Married Vermont ''Mont'' Cummings Hicken, June 9, 1920 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death, April 4, 1983. Active in the LDS Church, serving in many capacities.

Survived by two sons, Donald L. (Marcia), and Richard V. (Nila); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard I. Goalen.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 1995, at 12 noon in the Parley's 4th Ward, 1870 East Parley's Canyon Blvd. (2315 So.). Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Monday evening, 6-8 p.m., and at the ward on Tuesday, from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
