He was born May 14 1882 to David B. St. John and Mary H. Croffut, at Esbon, Jewell County, Kansas. He spent his early youth there and on March 27, 1911, he was united in marriage with Miss Clara Baldwin. They lately moved to Red Lodge, Montana, where they lived until November of that year.
They came to Idaho Falls in 1911, making their home on a farm one mile south of Idaho Falls. In 1912 they bought a farm at Riverdale where they lived until 1942, when they moved into the city.
He was a member of the Methodist church, the Odd Fellows lodge, the Riverdale Grange, and the Bonneville county Pomona Grange.
Besides his widow he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Lamberson, Idaho Falls, and one grandson (Robert Lamberson), Idaho Falls, and a nephew, Clarence Harold Rutt.
