His father was John Schultz and his mother, Freda ( ____ ) Schultz. They lived near Berlin, Germany. In 1862 they moved to Poland.

In 1882 Christ walked from Warsaw, Poland to Austria rather than submit to military service under Czar Nicholas. This was a distance of about 350 miles. Here he hired a wagon team to take him to Hamburg, Germany where he caught a ship taking passengers to Canada. While crossing the ocean he met a young lady, Catherine Ulmer.

He later married Catherine "Katie" Ulmer at Grenfell, Saskatchewan, Canada where he had taken out a homestead.

In December 1899 with their three children, they came to the United States. The following spring they moved to Odessa, Lincoln Co., WA where they homesteaded land. In 1914 they made their home in Harrington, WA. Moving from here in 1940 to Spokane, WA where they both passed away.

They belonged to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

They had 14 children.
