Muriel Adkins Boaz Huff, 75, of 130 Ingram Road, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 in Danville Regional Medical Center. She had been in the hospital for the past two days.

Mrs. Huff was born on February 13, 1935 in the Sandy Springs community of Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Henry George Adkins and the late Fannie Alma Doss Adkins. She had lived most of her life on the Mount Cross Road and had moved to Danville in 1988. She retired, due to disability, as a sitter. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church where she was a member of the U.M.U., also she was a member of the Tunstall Young Homemakers and she volunteered at Coates Elementary School for many years. She attended G.E.D. classes at Tunstall Middle School.

Mrs. Huff was married to the late James Nathaniel Huff, who died in 1983. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Clara Mae Adkins Wells, and a brother, William Edgar "Bill" Adkins.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Boaz, and wife Barbara of Milton, NC, and Glenn Scott Boaz, and wife Patty of Chatham, VA; two daughters, Ellen Boaz Pruitt, of Danville, VA, and Thresa Tucker, and husband David of Mount Airy, NC; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. from the Wrenn-Yeatts, Westover Chapel with Mr. Johnny Scearce and the Reverend David Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 7:00 8:30 P.M. and at other times they will be at the residence of her granddaughter, Kelly Guill, 261 Whitmell School Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549.
