She was born on December 22, 1917, in Harrisburg, the daughter of William A. and Mary Mahulda (Ferrell) Owen.
She was united in marriage to Paul E. Dann, Sr. on April 28, 1937, in Harrisburg and together they shared nearly 44 years of marriage until his death, Sept. 5, 1981.
Dorothy served alongside of her husband in the ministry and was always seeing to the needs of her home and family. Her dedication and love for the Lord and her family will be her great lasting legacy. She was deeply loved and will be missed. The many memories that have been created will now be treasured by those left behind.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Paul D. and Joan Dann of Midland, Mich.; two daughters and son-in-law, Marlene Summers of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Janette and Jim Summers of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren, Lori A. Deason and her husband, Ken of Lee's Summit, Mo., Robert Summers and his wife, Zula of Galatia, Christopher Dann and his wife, Amy of Saginaw, Mich., and Dann Scott Summers of Lee's Summit, Mo.; four great grandchildren, Jessica Schmitz and her husband, Jeremiah of Blue Springs, Mo., Brandan Deason of Lee's Summit, Mo., Erin Dann and Erica Dann both of Saginaw, Mich.; sister, Bernice Strader of North Carolina; and other extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several siblings.
Arrangements for Dorothy M. Dann have been entrusted to the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court Street, of Marion. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, at the funeral home.
Following the time of visitation the funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, at the funeral home with her son, Dr. Paul D. Dann of Midland, Mich., and Rev. Dale Burzynski of Ina presiding.
Interment will follow next to her husband in Liberty Cemetery near Harrisburg.
For those who prefer memorial contributions may be made to Ina Missionary Baptist Church, which was her home church the past several years.
