It is possible that Mehitable is buried next to James and daughter, Sarah. There are about six empty spaces next to them with no markers or rocks or signs of burials there. It is possible she never had a marker or tombstone or for some reason it is gone. Mehitable was the wife of James Lord. They married in Saybrook, CT (date unknown). Her maiden name is unknown. It may be King. Her daughter, Lydia had a daughter named Mehitable King Kirtland. After the birth of the first two children, James and Mehitable, they moved from Saybrook to Middletown, CT where the other children were born.

Distribution of the Dower Portion of the Estate of James Lord, February 24, 1806, Middletown, CT (James Lord's wife Mehitable died and her 1/3 (dower) share of his estate is settled with the heirs.)

Heirs: heirs of dec'd James Lord (her son); heirs of dec'd Mehitable Canfield (her dau.); daughters, Mary Ann, Lydia and Elizabeth. (It is possible that son, Hezekiah's name was not on list by mistake or he died without heirs).

Note: Mehitable's husband, James must have had alot of money. Her 1/3 share of the estate included a cottage (which she moved into) with many household items and furniture. By the time (1806) her share of her husband's estate was settled, her oldest two children died and maybe son, Hezekiah had also died.
