She was a school teacher. In fact, she was her husband's grade school teacher. She had no children by her first husband. She was widowed when she met Marion as an adult.
She was 35 years old when her son Earl was born.
One of her grandsons relates these memories of her: she had a double mastectomy and never really seemed to recover from it. She spent a lot of time in bed. Her husband used to bring her the newspaper after he had read it for her to read in bed. She never wanted to throw the papers out afterwards and they were stacked at the end of the bed as high as the bed itself. He remembers she used to have a lot of coughing and congestion and carried a tin can around to catch the flem. He never remembers her laughing, but can recall that she used to playfully poke him with her cane which would produce a slight smile on her face. He called her Moomie.
She was 82 when she died due to pulmonary tuberculosis, it was also noted on the Register of Deaths that she suffered from senility.
Her son, Earl, was the informant on the death register.
