Anna L Detjen, 79, of 20 Mueller Road, Kiel died Tuesday morning, March 30, 1993 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, after a brief illness.
She is the former Anna Tripp, born February 12, 1914 in Westport, Mass., a daughter of the late Ralph and Anna Hull Tripp. She graduated from Westport High School and received a BA Degree at Bridgewater State Teachers College, Bridgewater, Mass., in 1935. On June 29, 1938, she married Edgar W. Detjen of Westport, Mass. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1988. Prior to moving to Wisconsin, she was an elementary education teacher in Massachusetts. The couple moved to Kiel in 1947, where she was a librarian from 1960-1989. Her husband, Edgar, preceded her in death on April 7, 1992. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel; the Kiel Junior Women's Club, where she was selected Woman of the Year in 1974; a former Girl Scout Leader and a former Cub Scout Den Mother. She was also a member of the Kiel Women's Club and the Kiel Fraunverien.
Survivors include two sons. Dr. Robert Detjen, Travelers Rest, S.C.; Ronald (Mary) Detjen, Berlin, Wis.; one daughter, Joanne (Edward) Meyer, rural Kiel; six granddaughters; and one brother, Ralph Tripp, North Westport, Mass. She was preceded in death by one sister.
