David Lee Paxson, 77, of Connersville and formerly of Rushville, died Sunday, April 13, 2008.

Born June 22, 1930 in Bluffton, he was the son of Lloyd Sherman and Gwendolyn Elizabeth Niblick Paxson, both deceased.

Mr. Paxson was a 1949 graduate of Lancaster Central High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a junior partner at Deprez-Scott Hardware Store in Rushville for 20 years. He moved to Connersville in 1967. He worked as a sales associate at Wells Hardware in Connersville for eight years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Connersville. He owned the largest collection of Major League Baseball Yearbooks in the country, many of which are now on display at the Connersville library.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Janet D. (Williams) Paxson; daughter, Brenda R. (Don) Clark of Orlando, Fla.; son, Mick L. Paxson of Connersville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard W. Paxson, and a grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin.

Burial, with a graveside military service, will follow in Connersville's Dale Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, Central Christian Church or the Fayette County Animal Shelter.
