A retired mechanic and resident of Greenwell Springs, he died Monday, April 14, 1997, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 82 and a native of Centerville, Ala. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes and the Rev Bill Boulton. Burial in Patterson Cemetery, Slaughter. Survived by two daughters, Lila J. Crowder, St. Francisville, and Mary E. Dwire, Franklinton; a son, Robert S. Creel, Sr., Zachary; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by wives, Ella Mae Frazier Creel and Willie Ernestine Creel; a son, James H. Creel Sr.; and parents, Henry J. and Mary Ann Colburn Creel. Pallbearers will be Robert "Bobby" Creel Jr.,James "Jamie" Creel Jr., Barry Dwire, Norman Nelson, Adam Crowell, Anthony Feierabend, Bobby Wascome and Barry Dwire Jr. Hew was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
