Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away suddenly at home of coronary artery disease. He was 53 years old. Rory was born April 2, 1952, in Salt Lake City to Raymond Blaine and Winona June Fernelius Boyakin. He was a graduate of South High School and earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting at the University of Utah. He married Janet Smart for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 7, 1974. She passed away March 20, 1982. He married Lynn Steiner Elsmore on July 18, 1986 for time in the Salt Lake temple. Rory was an active, faithful, and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an honorable mission to La Paz, Bolivia. Though Rory had the opportunity to serve in many leadership callings both Stake and Ward, he always said his favorite calling was to be a dedicated home teacher. Rory will be missed for his dry wit, his clever sense of humor and his easy smile. Rory truly lived an exemplary life and was a great role model to his family and friends. Rory loved athletics. He played basketball and softball actively for 42 years and was an avid BYU fan. Rory is survived by his wife, Lynn, and their 10 children, Rhett, Josh (Emily), Janee (Jon), Bethany (Chad), Rourke (Lety), Jaime (Nick), Jacob, Emily, Whitney, and Seth; five grandchildren, Oaklie, Clayton, Mason, James and Annie (who were the delight of his life); two siblings, Karen (Steve) Nelson and Randi Boyakin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Janet, and father-in-law, Eldon R. Smart.
