Humberto H. "Beto" Alarcon went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2010 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on March 31, 1920 in Monterrey, Mexico to Vidal Alarcon and Estolia Villarreal. Beto proudly served our country in WWII and was awarded several medals. He was a true salesman and worked for Bankers Life and Casualty Company before opening his own insurance business. He enjoyed the sports of bowling, boxing and golf. Beto will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rene David Alarcon; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. Beto is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet Mae Alarcon; daughter, Becky Reuter (Dean); sons, Ralph Alarcon, Bert Alarcon, Richard Alarcon (Nancy) , Edward Alarcon and Michael Alarcon (Sylvia); sister, Olga Garza Alarcon; grandchildren, Lori Weidemann (Jordan), Tracy Blocker (Shane), Brandon Alarcon (Heather) and Jennifer, David, Frank, Hollie, Michael, Taley, Sarah, Andrew & Cody Alarcon and Robyn Reuter; great-grandchildren, Gage and Rush Blocker. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 beginning at 9:30AM, with the Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz, San Antonio, TX 78209. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Army Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edgewater Care Center in Kerrville, TX or to the Audie Murphy Veterans Hospital in San Antonio, TX.
