Son of Mary Warner & Joseph Whitmore. Husband of (1) Rachel White and (2) her cousin Sybil White.
Francis was a third generation property owner at Middletown, his grandfather owning over a thousand acres and the Stone Bridge over Ferry River. Young Francis' heritage is proved by land and probate records, as there were four other Francis Whitmores living in Middletown during this era.

Francis Whitmore, 1725, a son of Joseph Whitmore and Mary Warner, did NOT marry Elizabeth Hale, but married (1) Rachael White and after her death, married (2) her cousin, Sybil White. Later court records prove that Joseph Whitmore left land to this son, Francis and wife, Mary, and then after Mary died and Francis (son of Joseph) made a will 25 November 1757 leaving his estate to his "beloved wife Sibil" and to his two daughters, Mary Whitmore and Sibil Whitmore. (Middletown Probate Records, I, 281)
