Jennie Turner, age 92 of Aitkin formerly of McGregor and the Fleming Community died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin. Jennie was born March 14, 1915 at Aitkin, Minnesota the daughter of Mike and Maria (Pahala) Niemi.

She grew up and attended schools in the Aitkin area. She married Claude S. Turner on March 4, 1936 in Aitkin. They lived in the Fleming Community and farmed until the mid 1950's. They continued to live at the farm until her husband died in 1995 at which time she moved to McGregor and lived at the Pioneer Villa. She has resided at the Aicota Health Care Center the past 3 weeks. Music was a large part of her and her husband's life as they played accordian and harmonica. They spent many hours over the years entertaining the residents at the local nursing homes. She was a member of the Fleming United Methodist Church, the Fleming Ladies Aid, the Birthday Club, she enjoyed working the dinners at the Fleming Church, she baked beans for the many DFL Fund Raisers, she loved to can her garden produce and most importantly, her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Claude in 1995, one daughter Doris, one brother Taido, and two sisters: Thelma and Celia.
